A classic revived
This is a top-quality restoration job; an excellent print with a music track written for this version. The pace of the film is rather slow but it goes to an ending as startling as that of "The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari". The story: his hands are all-important to concert pianist Paul Orlac, and they are damaged beyond repair in a terrible train crash. His surgeon is able to transplant new hands from a freshly executed killer. Orlac's over-active imagination and a malevolent predator plunge him into madness and despair. Then comes the startling conclusion.
